Research Area 3 —

Burnout & Energy Management

I create frameworks and study the physiology of energy to help people manage their finite cognitive resources and successfully psychologically detach from work and life stressors.

These methods include:

  1. 3M Framework for Preventing Burnout

  2. Biological Chronotypes

Burnout Risk Index (BRI):

  • The BRI is based on over forty years of occupational burnout research and is used as a benchmarking tool designed to measure the three core dimensions of burnout: exhaustion, cynicism, and professional inefficacy.

  • 3 minutes to complete and includes an automated email report indicating your clinical burnout risk (high/medium/low), scores on three burnout sub-scales, and recommendations to create a more sustainable relationship with work.

  • Burnout numbers continue to rise internationally. We believe awareness and being able to see your own data can change the trajectory of someone’s life, so our lab offers this assessment to the public at no cost

Biological Chronotype Assessment:

  • 2017 Nobel-Prize winning science reveals that each of us has an optimal time to fall asleep and wake up, and a biologically determined circadian rhythm known as a “chronotype.”

  • The Biological Chronotype assessment is a survey-based assessment which helps individuals determine their unique, genetic 24-hour energy profile and whether they are AM-Shifted, Bi-Phasic, or PM-Shifted.

  • 4 minutes to complete and includes an automated PDF email report which details how to ideally schedule your day for optimal productivity and effectiveness.

Take the assessment down below! The cost is $10 and all proceeds go to support science and research.

Research

1. Productivity & Performance

I create and test methods to help people leverage their unique biology to get their most important work done, in less time, with less neurological stress.

2. Digital Dependence & Hygiene

I study how people can create a more intentional and sustainable relationship with their digital devices and tools.

3. Burnout & Energy Management

I create frameworks and study the physiology of energy to help people manage their finite cognitive resources and successfully psychologically detach from work and life stressors.
